Some of the best of friends are in each other's lives because of shared interests. It's that common tie that brings you together to share the same passions. Out of all the things in the world, you better believe that I have formed some amazing friendships due to the shared love of plants! In come the Leaf Ladies! This group is not only as plant obsessed as I am, but they are all self-made small businesses too! Together we support one another in our handmade journeys and of course talk about plants. Through the hashtag #leaf_ladies we have grown our little friend circle to include hundreds of other women who want to fill their home with living greenery!

Which brings me to today! I am very happy to be sharing a fellow core member of the Leaf Ladies as the Plant Lady of the week! Meet Fanny Zedenius! She is a world traveler and fiber artist who has a deep connection to nature. Her dreamy photos make you want to stop everything and build out your own boho bungalow! With her warm heart and a green thumb, she will turn you into a plant lady with one photo!

Tell us about when you first fell in love with plants?
I was about 7 years old and my mom had a plant - a Peperomia obtusifolia - that was dying, or she was going to throw it out for some reason, and that made me really sad. So mom said I could take a cutting of it and see if it would grow roots. And when eventually it did grow roots I was completely amazed and thought it was due to my love for it and that I was exceptionally good at taking care of plants. I talked to that plant almost every day and watched it grow. Since then I have loved plants with all my heart, and it makes me seriously happy to see them grow new leaves or flowers!

Tell us about your favorite ways to decorate with plants?
I love to crowd my windows with a lot of plants, both standing in the windowsill and hanging from the curtain rack.

Why do you feel houseplants are necessary for your home?
They brighten up any room and (whether it is imagined or not) I can feel the air is much fresher with plenty of plants. Plus they make me feel like I am doing something right when they are healthy and happy!

What are your must-have accessories for the perfect plant corner?
Plant hangers! I have them in abundance. Also, I love terra cotta.

Have you noticed any trends in houseplants?
The more the merrier. Just look at the huge movement surrounding Instagram accounts like Urban Jungle Bloggers and The Jungalow, it's clear to me there can never be too many plants in our homes!

What's the next plant you want to get?
I think I want a red Dracaena!

Who are some of your favorite plant ladies?
Besides my mother and my Instagram friends who started the hashtag #leaf_ladies, I would say Maria Bergström of The Hidden Adventure.
